LISS Panel Grant 2026: One grant reserved for data donation research
The ODISSEI 2026 LISS Panel Grant call is now open and will close on 24 September 2026 at 15:00 CE(S)T. Selected projects will be fielded in 2027.
A total of six grants are available, including one grant specifically aimed at researchers who want to collect data in the LISS panel through data donation.
This grant offers a unique opportunity to conduct data donation research using the LISS panel, which is based on a true probability sample of households drawn from the population register by Statistics Netherlands. The panel consists of 5,000 households, comprising approximately 7,500 individuals aged 16 and older.
The grant provides free panel time for researchers to field their own questions or experiments. Proposals are assessed by an independent interdisciplinary committee. The call is open to researchers employed by ODISSEI member organisations, and early-career researchers are encouraged to apply.
For regular LISS projects, the LISS component includes a net response of 2,000 respondents and 10 minutes of panel time, which generally corresponds to around 30 simple survey items.
Researchers interested in the data donation grant and the technical possibilities of using Port are welcome to contact us before submitting their proposal. We can help think through questions such as what data Port can collect, what a realistic script looks like, and how the data donation process can be integrated into a LISS panel wave.
